David Blaine
The original specialty of Blaine was showing people his tricks on the streets of New York. Like Criss Angel, Blaine is a master of illusion. Once he was buried, for a week, in a coffin during a New York City stunt. Another time, Blaine was trapped in a block of ice down at the infamous Times Square.
During one stunt, "Drowned Alive", Blaine tried to defeat the world record of longest breath held under water, but he failed. Blaine was shackled under the water, and had to be rescued by divers after a long seven minutes. Blaine had his first magic kit purchased for him at age four. When Blaine was sixteen, he levitated for his doctor, which immediately caused Blaine to be taken in for examination.
Blaine really got into magic and illusion when his mother died. Blaine was only twenty-one. Blaine became famous at twenty-four, and was televised before Criss Angel was discovered. Street illusion had never been done before, and this is what made Blaine so famous for his talent. Blaine's inspiration was the great Houdini, and his first stunt of being buried alive for seven days, received the approval of Houdini's daughter.
The illusion videos of Angel and Blaine can be watched online. Their stunts are shown on television, as well as in person throughout the country. DVDs that capture these two wonderful illusionists can also be purchased.
